Similar names are not ranked
The L series contains several generations and equipment lines. A new Gen 3 device can offer more in individual points than a differently positioned L40 variant. For buyers this means: compare functions line by line. The number in the model name is not a performance grade and does not replace a comparison of the specific version.
Edges or hair as first priority
The Gen 3 combines extendable side brush and mop. The L40 Ultra A includes, among other things, the TriCut brush in the data sheet. Our classification: With many furniture edges, it is worth giving greater weight to the mobility of the side brush. For hair, the right brush should also be considered, including maintenance and replacement part costs.
Matching heights do not settle the decision
Both are specified with a height of 97 mm. If your sofa offers significantly less space, neither of the two devices is suitable based on the model name alone. Even when space is limited, reserves are still necessary. Measure before you compare individual comfort functions against each other; an inaccessible area is a more fundamental problem.
kit, standard package and actual need compare
Gen 3 kit includes accessories. Therefore, check whether an apparent price advantage is simply due to a different scope of delivery. Additional pads are useful when you actually need them, but they don't replace a desired robot function. If both meet your requirements, we would prefer the more suitable overall offer rather than purchasing the higher model number as a precaution.
