Pa describes the specified negative pressure, not the entire cleaning performance. Brush, air path, sealing, driving strategy, carpet contact and measuring method all determine this. Therefore, compare Pa numbers only as one data point.
What Pascal actually describes
Pascal is the SI unit for pressure. For robot vacuums, a maximum negative pressure is usually advertised. Where and under what conditions the measurements were taken is not always documented in a comparable way in the product information.
Why the brush makes a difference
On carpet, the roller has to remove particles and hair from fibers. On hard floors, the side brush, suction opening and road surface must reliably bring dirt together. A high number does not compensate for poor ground contact.
Further selection criteria
Include independent floor testing, brush care, carpet detection, bins, filters, navigation and volume. The Pa number is practically meaningless for wiping performance.
